About South Wales News Service

South Wales News Service is owned and operated by the SMA Media Group. We are a team of photojournalists that are dedicated to providing high quality photographic content for local, national and online news providers.

We are based in central Cardiff, South Wales and cover the entire of the South Wales area on a daily basis to capture breaking news as it happens. We don’t stop there though! We also cover local interests, attend events such as music festivals and concerts as well as photographing the odd celebrity or two.

We have more than 10 years experience of editorial photography after beginning our life providing the national and world wide news with our photographic packages of abandoned and derelict buildings from around the UK.

Although South Wales News Service is a small, family run business, we believe that makes us kind of special. We truly care about the work that we do and strive to provide the best service that we can to all of our customers and website visitors.

Over the past few years, we have been able to develop a good working relationship with a number of agencies including several Police Forces, Ambulance Services and the Fire Service, working with them to ensure that we treat every incident scene with the dignity and respect it deserves. Due to our relationship, we are quite often allowed behind the crime scene tape to photograph closer to the incident site than any other provider when safe to do so. We also receive immediate press releases from a wide range of agencies, organisations and the Government that allows us to publish news as it breaks.

All of the team at South Wales News Service and SMA Media Group are professionals. We take pride in the work that we do and for us, it’s not a job - it’s our life.

We are always keen to hear from other press companies, agencies and of course, the general public. If you’d like to get in touch with us, just click on the links above and we’ll respond as soon as possible.
